Private Vasectomy (self-pay)

We offer a straightforward private self-pay option. This is not commissioned or funded by the NHS. This is only open to patients who are not registered with Bartlett Group practice. All vasectomies will be performed by an experienced NHS vasectomy surgeon Dr Steven Leong, under full clinical governance regulations.

Consultation

Free — Online video and telephone consultation with the surgeon. 

This is mandatory prior to procedure. You are under no obligation to proceed following consultation and are encouraged to take time to consider your decision.


Vasectomy Package

£749 — Includes:

Additional semen tests, if required, are charged at £59 per test.


Payment Terms

Full payment is required at least 7 days before your procedure. We accept cash, cheque, bank transfer, and all major debit and credit cards (excluding American Express). Card payments must be made in person at the clinic. 


Postal Semen Analysis Kits (Available Separately)

We also offer postal semen analysis kits for £59, even if your vasectomy was performed elsewhere. These are convenient, discreet, and clinically validated tests that allow you to confirm clearance from home without attending a clinic. Please contact us if you would like to purchase a kit or need repeat testing.


Re-scheduling and cancellation policy

We understand that plans sometimes change, and we aim to be as fair and flexible as possible.

We recognise that genuine emergencies and unforeseen circumstances occur. Any reasons for cancellation or rescheduling will always be taken into account, and we will aim to apply these policies reasonably and compassionately. 

If the procedure cannot proceed for clinical reasons identified on the day, all procedure fees will be refunded in full.


Private Vasectomy Service – Terms and Conditions

1. Nature of the Service

This is a private, self-funded vasectomy service. It is not commissioned, funded, or provided under the NHS. Accessing this service does not affect a patient’s entitlement to NHS care.


2. Eligibility

Fees are payable on a self-pay basis and will be clearly communicated in advance.

All fees must be paid in accordance with instructions provided at the time of booking. NHS reimbursement is not available for private services.


5. Cancellations and Refunds

Patients are requested to give reasonable notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

If a vasectomy cannot be safely performed on the day for clinical reasons, the procedure fee will be refunded.

Procedure fees are generally non-refundable once the procedure has taken place.

Sterility is not immediate, and slight risk of failure rates, although low, will be discussed during consent. Most patients return to light activity within 48 hours. 


8. Complications and Further Treatment

While vasectomy is a safe and effective procedure, complications can occur. These will be discussed during consultation.

For urgent post-procedure concerns, patients will be provided with direct clinical contact details. 

Further treatment, including repeat procedures if clinically indicated, will be discussed on an individual basis and may incur additional fees unless otherwise agreed. If needing a repeat procedure, if done within 1 year of original procedure, the cost will be reduced to £400.

Clinical records for private patients are maintained securely within the practice’s clinical system and handled in accordance with:

Patients are encouraged to raise concerns directly with the surgeon (Dr Steven Leong) in the first instance.

Complaints will be managed in line with the practice’s complaints policy. Independent advice may also be sought from appropriate professional bodies if required.

The clinician performing the procedure holds appropriate professional indemnity cover for private medical work.
