Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)
A vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure that provides permanent contraception for men by sealing the tubes (vas deferens) that carry sperm. It’s a quick, safe, and highly effective option for those certain they don’t want future pregnancies.
Vasectomies are over 99% effective when performed correctly. We follow meticulous techniques to ensure a near-zero failure rate. A follow-up sperm test confirms success.
Most patients report minimal discomfort due to local anesthesia and our refined no-scalpel technique. You may feel slight pressure but no sharp pain. Over-the-counter pain relief is usually sufficient afterward.
The surgery typically takes 10 minutes, with the entire visit (check-in, consultation, and aftercare) lasting about 30–40 minutes.
24–48 hours: Rest advised (avoid heavy lifting/exercise/work).
1 week: Most return to light activities.
2 weeks: Resume gym/sex (with contraception until cleared via sperm test).
After 16 weeks and a clear sperm test, you’ll be confirmed sterile. Until then, continue contraception to prevent pregnancy.
Serious complications are rare (<1%). Temporary mild swelling/tenderness is normal. Our near-zero complication rate reflects our expertise.
No—it doesn’t change libido, erection, or ejaculation. Sperm (a tiny fraction of semen) is simply blocked. Many couples report greater spontaneity post-recovery.
Vasectomies are considered permanent. While reversal is possible, it’s costly, not guaranteed, and rarely NHS-funded. We encourage thorough consideration before proceeding.
